Wij onderzoeken hoe ethiek en spiritualiteit deel uitmaken van één holistisch kader dat de besluitvormingsprocessen van organisaties vorm geeft. Dit conceptuele artikel behandelt: hoe kunnen Yogische Yamas en Niyamas (disciplinaire beperkingen en observanties) als uitdrukkingen van spiritualiteit gebaseerde ethiek, ethische besluitvorming verrijken die een vertrouwensvolle context op duurzame wijze stimuleert? Drie filosofische teksten voor Aṣṭāṅga Yoga in Indiase spirituele tradities werden gebruikt via een op hermeneutiek gebaseerde kwalitatieve-onderzoeksmethodologie. Een van de belangrijkste bijdragen is dat we de concepten Āstikya (geloof in of vertrouwen in hoger bewustzijn) en Īśvarapraṇidhāna (wat men doet toevertrouwen aan hoger bewustzijn) verkennen om het discours over ethische besluitvorming op basis van spiritualiteit te verrijken. Wij stellen een integratieve benadering voor om tot coherente beslissingen te komen door een universele en contextuele spirituele basis aan te brengen voor het omgaan met crises.
